On Friday, technology giant Amazon launched its first internet satellite prototypes into space.
The two Project Kuiper prototypes were launched four years after Amazon initially announced the project’.
“We’ve done extensive testing here in our lab and have a high degree of confidence in our satellite design, but there’s no substitute for on-orbit testing,” said the project’s Technology VP Rajeev Badyal.
Amazon ultimately plans to create a network of 3,236 high-speed internet satellites in space.
