Beginning in late January, subscribers to technology giant Amazon’s Amazon Prime streaming service will need to fork over extra cash to avoid watching advertisements while streaming content.
Subscribers looking for ad-free content will need to pay $2.99 more – for a total of $10.99 – starting Jan. 29.
Users who elect against paying the extra $2.99 will start seeing ads while watching Amazon content that very same day.
According to Amazon, the company’s advertising income surpassed its streaming service income as of 2022.
