Artificial intelligence that can pass any and every test given to it by a human could happen in as little as five years, said Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang at an economic forum at Stanford University. He was responding to a question that asked how long he thinks it will be until a computer is developed that can think like a human.
“If I gave an AI … every single test that you can possibly imagine, you make that list of tests and put it in front of the computer science industry, and I’m guessing in five years time, we’ll do well on every single one,” Huang said.
Currently, AI can pass certain tests, such as a bar exam. However, it’s challenged by more specialized exams, such as certain niche medical exams.
Other scientists have a different definition of what it means for a computer to think like a human, Huang noted. Therefore, achieving hat particular goal may be further down the road.
