Despite recent wins by Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists and the Writers Guild of America against the use of artificial intelligence in the TV and film industry, it looks like Hollywood is still trying to fake it until they make it.
On Tuesday, Warner Music Group announced it would be creating an artificial intelligence-produced biopic of French singer Edith Piaf, with approval from the late star’s estate.
However, the movie could pose major concerns for animators, actors and other entertainment professionals concerned about artificial intelligence taking over the industry.
Though only in the proof-of-concept stage, only time will tell if Hollywood will say “Non, Je Ne Regrette Rien” about the Piaf biopic.
