JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon admitted Wednesday that lawsuits related to the financial firm’s former client, the notorious sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, impacted its brand equity “a bit.”
“We banked Jeffrey Epstein and I’m so sorry that we did. I wish we hadn’t,” Dimon told CNBC.
“Had we known then what we know today, we obviously wouldn’t have,” continued the JPMorgan CEO.
The financial firm’s reputation was publicly and financially tarnished following the reveal of the extent of JPMorgan’s relationship with Epstein, culminating in a $290 million settlement to one of Epstein’s accusers in June.
