Despite surging sales in the United States’ mega-popular Halloween candy industry, one long-time staple is seeming to fall out of public favor.
According to Nielsen IQ data, candy corn sales have been falling consistently every year since 2018, with only 5.3 million packages of candy corn sold this year as of Oct. 14.
Meanwhile, sales of gummies and marshmallow candies have reportedly grown by 30% since 2018.
While Halloween candy may have raked in $3.7 billion in 2022 alone, it looks like candy corn is far from satisfying current American consumers’ sweet tooths.
