The Writers Guild of America is anticipated to restart negotiations with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers on Friday.
The WGA has been striking since May 2 in demand of fair wages, residuals and various other employment issues, with the 100-plus day long strike marking the guild’s longest strike since 1988.
“We expect the AMPTP to provide responses to WGA proposals,” said the WGA in a statement.
“Our committee returns to the bargaining table ready to make a fair deal, knowing the unified WGA membership stands behind us and buoyed by the ongoing support of our union allies,” added the writer’s guild, referencing the ongoing strike by the Screen Actors Guild – American Federation of Television and Radio Artists that began July 14.
