Walmart is winning the battle of major U.S. retailers as the chain’s profits surge while competitor Target’s numbers continue to slump.
Walmart’s in-store sales reportedly grew 6.4% year-over-year from last quarter, while online sales grew 24% and profit 6.7% during the same time period.
Meanwhile, Target’s sales figures slumped 5.4% last quarter.
News of Walmart’s positive numbers pushed the company’s stock up 2% in pre-market trading Thursday.
