The CFO and executive vice-president of Walmart, Brett Biggs will start to transition out of his job and will leave the company Jan 31, 2023. Biggs has worked for Walmart, which led the Fortune 500 in 2021 with fiscal year revenue of $559 billion, for 22 years.
In his role as CFO Biggs is responsible for accounting and controls, business planning and analysis, tax and investor relations of America’s largest company.
“Given the tremendous positioning and momentum of the company, now felt like the right time to transition to the next chapter in my personal and professional life,” said Biggs.
Biggs joined the company in 2000 as senior vice-president of International M6A strategy after stints at Phillips Petroleum and PwC.
Walmart revenues were up 4.3% year-over-year in 3Q21. Nonetheless the gross profit rate was down 0.12% reflecting increased costs in the supply chain.
