Today, Volvo Cars released its latest global sales data, with the company reporting a full-year sales total of 763,389 cars during 2024. The total is an 8% increase compared to 2023.
The company also celebrated a significant jump in EV sales, reporting a 54% increase within the field. For the full year 2024, Volvo Cars sold 175,194 electric vehicles globally, which accounted for 46% of all car sales – a 16% increase from 2023.
Volvo Cars’ European sales increased by 25% in 2024, reaching 369,685, with fully electric and plug-in hybrid models accounting for 65% of all the cars sold in the region.
Volvo Cars US recorded a 20% jump in EV sales for 2024, with EV models accounting for 34% of the 125,243 cars sold in the region.
For 2024, the Volvo XC60 was the company’s top-selling model, with a total of 230,853 cars sold worldwide.
For 2023, Volvo Car Group recorded a record-breaking core operating profit of SEK 25.6 billion. The company’s 2024 annual report is due to be released on February 27th.
