Real GDP increased in 37 states and the District of Colombia in 3Q21, as real GDP increased at an annual rate of 2.3% nationwide.
The strongest growth nationwide was in Hawaii with 6% as tourism recovered from a deep pandemic dip.
Other states with impressive gains in GDP were Delaware with 4.7%, New Jersey with 3.7%, Florida with 3.7% Texas with 3.5% and Oregon with 3.5%.
The largest gains in contribution were in professional, scientific and technical services, which increased 12.3% nationally, while finance and insurance, increased by 7.8% nationally.
The greatest decrease in GDP was in North Dakota and New Hampshire with 3.3%, largely due to decreases in agriculture, forestry and fishing.
