American meat processing giant Tyson Foods, Inc. announced it will close down four of its U.S. chicken plants Monday.
Two of the four plants scheduled for closure are located in Missouri, while the other two are located in Indiana and Arkansas.
The shutdowns come after recent chicken pricing drops in the United States, which reportedly negatively impacted Tyson’s chicken sales revenue by 3.5% last quarter.
Tyson’s stock dropped 6% on Monday as a result.
