According to statements made by Starbucks CEO Brian Niccol to reporters, the company plans to give all salaried employees in North America a 2% raise this year.
Niccol stated that the raise will apply to all corporate staff, workers in manufacturing and distribution, as well as store managers.
Starbucks’ wage increase efforts come amid Niccol’s “Back to Starbucks” campaign to control the coffee giant’s rising costs. Under Niccol, the chain has carried out turnaround efforts including job cuts, stricter dress codes, and motivating executives to control costs.
The announcement also comes after Workers United union delegates voted in April to reject the coffee chain’s latest wage proposal, which guaranteed annual raises of at least 2%. The proposal reportedly did not include changes to economic benefits like healthcare or any immediate increase in pay.
In the company’s latest earnings release, Niccol’s stated, “In 2026, we’ll unleash a wave of innovation that fuels growth, elevates customer service, and ensures everyone experiences the very best of Starbucks. We’re building back a better Starbucks experience and a better business.”
Starbuck’s shares rose around 3% following Niccol’s announcement.
