This weekend’s Super Bowl will have 117 million viewers, the most ever for the game, according to media research company PredictHQ. The high number of viewers is driven by a 41% increase in the viewership of NFL games in the past year after a drop in 2020.
In 2021 PredictHQ predicted there would be 96 million viewers of the Super Bowl almost exactly matching the post-game total of 96.9 million viewers.
According to NBC it was officially sold out of commercial time on February 3rd and 30 seconds of airtime was selling for as much as $7 million.
Advertising for the 2022 Super Bowl is notable for rumors that crypto currency firms such as FTX and Crypto.com are participating, leading to this years edition being dubbed the “Crypto Bowl” by some news outlets.
