JetBlue Airway on Wednesday said it was giving up on its fight to keep a partnership with American Airlines.
Instead, the budget carrier that said that it will now focus on plan to acquire Spirit Airlines for $3.8 billion.
JetBlue said it won’t join American in challenging a judge’s ruling against the partnership.
JetBlue hopes to become the fifth-largest U.S. carrier while antitrust officials continue to push back against further consolidation in an industry they argue already has too few competitors.
