It is an unusual move for a publication, but on Wednesday, GQ magazine removed a story from its website about Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav without any explanation.
The article in question, posted on Monday, was extremely critical of Zaslav, comparing him to the ruthless business tycoon played by Richard Gere in “Pretty Woman.”
After stern objections from Warner Bros. Discovery, GQ had originally toned down the article before completely deleting it Wednesday morning.
Almost immediately, GQ readers began voicing their concerns about the removal of the article on social media, to which the magazine responded that it had “decided to unpublish” the piece because it had not been properly vetted prior to being posted.
