Ford CEO Jim Farley has promised to “lay out the entire picture” of the company under his leadership in the next couple of months.
Ford Motor CEO Jim Farley is promising employees and investors a clear and decisive plan as the storied American car manufacturer and auto industry as a whole transition to electric vehicles.
Farley said that he “will lay out the entire picture” for Ford in the coming months as the company continues to advance with restructuring actions and new partnerships, such as a partnership announced earlier this week with Google.
“2021 is our year of action,” Farley told CNBC Wednesday. “We’re executing our plan and we’ll continue to do that so every business in our portfolio has a sustainable future. If not, we will restructure it.”
Since he was appointed CEO last October, Farley has been building upon and “accelerating” an $11 billion restructuring plan launched under his predecessor in 2018 which includes slashing the company’s global headcount by 14,000 people, restructuring operations, and ending vehicle production in Brazil, among other moves.
