Cosm, which broadcasts live sports events through “shared reality,” has today announced its partnership with the National Football League. Cosm’s venues will produce and distribute NFL games to its fans for the rest of the 2024 season as part of the new deal.
According to the interactive entertainment company, the experience given to fans is completely new. Cosm claims to be “the leading experiential media and immersive technology company redefining the way the world experiences content.” With some of the most innovative experience technology in the world, “Cosm provides sensorial experiences for every type of fan, from sports and entertainment to immersive art and education. Its immersive venues bridge the virtual and physical worlds through pioneered technology that expands the realm of what’s possible, connecting people and bringing them together in, what is called, Shared Reality.”
“From six sideline vantage points – two on each goal line, and two on each line-to-gain – C360’s cameras capture 210-degree views of the field, a departure from more limited viewpoints of the past. Once that footage is ingested, an operator, who typically embedded in the production truck, uses C360’s software to toggle to their desired viewpoint and timestamp to deliver airable replay footage to their broadcast partners.”
The company’s new partnership with the NFL is hoped to increase demand for its service. “What’s so unique about a property like the NFL is that fandom is everywhere,” said Cosm President and CEO Jeb Terry, “We see fans coming in wearing jerseys, bringing the Terrible Towel, bringing cow bells, having an absolute blast, like they’re at the stadium themselves.”
Cosm’s shares have increased steadily since the announcement and the company hopes to significantly increase its stock value throughout the remainder of the football season.
