Cancun in Mexico is the most popular vacation hotspot for Americans according to vacation website ParkSleepFly’s analysis of Google search results.
The Mexican beach paradise was followed by Bali in Indonesia, Dubai in the United Arab Emirates, Bora Bora in French Polynesia and Panama City in Panama.
Paris and Toronto and to a lesser extent Dubai were the only non-beach destinations in the top ten.
In the breakdown by state Puerto Rico was the most googled destination in 41 states during the last six months of 2021.
Residents in Alaska, North Dakota showed a special interest in the Maldives, while residents of Massachusetts and New Hampshire particularly sought out Aruba.
For those living in Idaho and Montana Costa Rica was the most googled destination.
