On Tuesday, technology giant Amazon announced it has invested in new technology that helps capture carbon emissions out from the air.
According to Amazon, the company purchased a quarter of a million metric tons of carbon removal from carbon removal technology company STRATOS over the next decade.
This is reportedly the same quantity of carbon emitted by 55,633 traditional combustion fuel-powered cars across the course of a year.
Amazon, which also invested in CarbonCapture Inc., now joins Microsoft as the latest large-scale business to invest in emission reduction technology.
