Technology giant Amazon launched its new virtual health clinic, named Amazon Clinic, to the U.S. public Tuesday.
Amazon’s health offering will allow customers to consult with a medical professional by text or by video call to receive a consultation on common medical conditions, like pink eye and urinary infections.
Amazon Clinic will not accept health insurance for its services, but patients will reportedly be able to see the consultation’s cost upfront before they begin as well as receive prescription medications that may be covered by insurance.
Video consultation services are currently available across all 50 U.S. states and Washington D.C., while Amazon Clinic’s messaging division has only rolled out to 34 states thus far.
