Harvard classes will move online amid the growing global coronavirus outbreak.
Harvard has asked its students not to return to campus after spring break and continue classes remotely as the coronavirus outbreak continues in the rest of the world.
The decision was announced in an email written by Harvard University President Lawrence S. Bacow. He stated that the academic institution will undertake major near-term changes that will limit exposure to the disease among members of the Harvard community like transitioning over the course of the next few days to non-essential gatherings and events and turning to online classes.
“To our students”, added President Bacow, “I know it will be difficult to leave your friends and your classrooms. We are doing this not just to protect you but also to protect other members of our community who may be more vulnerable to this disease than you are.”
