Most frequent fliers know that to avoid jet lag you should exercise as soon as you get off the plane, skip in-flight meals and avoid alcohol.
But Australian airline Qantas just did a year-long study on how to change inflight routines to reduce jetlag by eating chili and chocolate.
For the study, the airline kept logs of how people felt for the week before ta long flight, during the flight and for two weeks after the flight.
The study found that these foods, which promote the brain’s production of tryptophan, an amino acid linked to sleepiness, helped to curb jetlag.
