U.S. fast food chain Taco Bell scored a major win in court this week when a New Jersey restaurant abandoned its “Taco Tuesday” trademark on Tuesday.
The NJ restaurant, Gregory’s Restaurant and Bar, held claim to the “Taco Tuesday” trademark for four decades.
“The response we’ve seen over the last six months since taking action to free ‘Taco Tuesday’ is the exact reason we felt it was worth freeing it in the first place,” said Taco Bell CMO Taylor Montgomery.
However, Taco Bell failed to reveal whether there was a financial settlement involved in the suit.
