Fast food giant McDonald’s is adding two brand new sauces to its U.S. menu for a limited time beginning Oct. 9.
The new “Sweet & Spicy Jam” is a “jammy red pepper sauce with a tongue-numbing Szechuan peppercorn kick and extra heat from cayenne pepper” that McDonald’s has characterized as its first-ever “breakfast-inspired” sauce.
In comparison, the “Mambo Sauce” is based on a popular Washington D.C.-style sauce consists of tomato, vinegar and spicy elements.
The two new sauces will join McDonald’s staple line of signature sauces, which include Ranch, Barbecue and Sweet & Sour, as part of McDonald’s initiative to boost sales amid a sluggish fast-food market.
