France’s famous Mont Blanc, the highest point in Western Europe, reached its lowest height seen since records were first taken in 2001.
According to topography data, the mountain shrunk 6.5 meters over the course of the last two years.
Researchers say the height reduction comes as climate change has continued to shrink Mont Blanc’s snowcap.
Likewise, an excessively hot summer and low rain levels also purportedly contributed to the mountain’s shrinking height.
