A series of raging wildfires on the Hawaiian island of Maui left six dead Wednesday.
The wildfires were exacerbated by a rush of wind brought in by a distant hurricane, fanning the flames to new heights.
The natural disaster forced thousands of locals and tourists to evacuate Maui’s Western side, including pushing some people into the oceans as they tried to escape the fires.
Some of the island’s neighborhoods were reportedly burnt down to the ground, though the true extent of damage done to Maui is still unknown.
