According to new research, billions of people could be fighting for survival as climate change continues to make the world warmer and more humid.
The research said the rising heat and humidity has the potential to spread as far as the U.S. midwest.
A purported 750 million people are set to experience at least one week per year of deadly humidity levels if the average global temperature rises 2 degrees Celsius.
“It’s very disturbing,” said research co-author Matthew Huber. “It’s going to send a lot of people to emergency medical care.”
