Fast food chain giant McDonald’s is aiming to expand its global footprint with the addition of 9,000 new locations across the next three years, the company announced Wednesday.
The chain, which currently has 41,000 locations worldwide, has set a goal to have 50,000 locations around the world by the year 2027.
McDonald’s leadership noted it would focus on expanding the franchise into underdeveloped locations in the United States.
In a statement, McDonald’s said the plans – if achieved – would represent “the fastest period of growth in company history.”
