Toymaker Mattel has tapped former Fox and Sont executive Michelle Mendelovitz to head Mattel Television Studios, the company announced Thursday.
Mendelovitz also formerly held roles at AppleTV+ and CBS Television Network.
“The opportunity to connect worldwide audiences with Mattel’s iconic brands, franchises, and characters through high-quality storytelling is greater than ever before,” said Mattel CFO Josh Silverman. “I look forward to the impact Michelle and Mattel Television Studios will have on expanding the content slate to the delight of our fans around the globe.”
Mattel’s expansion of its TV division comes as the company looks to replicate the billion-dollar success of its summer blockbuster movie ‘Barbie.’
