Managers have the greatest opportunity to take small breaks while people working in protective service have the least, according to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics.
The flexibility to pause is enjoyed by 97% of management and people in business and financial operations of companies and 95% of workers in the legal, computer and mathematical part of operations.
On the other end of the spectrum 14% of people in protective service, 21% of people in food preparation and serving related and 31% in transportation and material moving have the liberty to take small breaks.
Across the board 56% of all US workers have the flexibility to pause work with unscheduled breaks.
Recently particularly the restaurant industry has suffered from a tight labor market with 56,000 people quitting in the arts, entertainment and recreation segment of the economy in September.
