U.S. grocery chain Kroger announced it will pay out a $1.2 billion settlement over allegations that it perpetuated the opioid crisis through negligent pill sales.
The settlement will be paid out to local governments, states and Native American tribes.
However, Kroger said the settlement is not an admission of wrongdoing.
CVS, Walgreens and Walmart all previously issued settlements over their roles in the opioid crisis last year.
