On Friday, carmaking giant Toyota announced it will adopt Tesla’s North American Charging Standard as the primary charging system for the company’s electric vehicles.
Toyota EVs will reportedly be fully equipped with the NACS by the year 2025.
The move comes following Tesla CEO Elon Musk’s invitation to carmakers back in November 2022 to join in on Tesla’s charging standard, which has the most prominent infrastructure across North America.
The company now joins Hyundai, Kia, General Motors, Mercedes-Benz, Honda, Ford and more as adopters of the NACS.
