The United Auto Workers labor union is preparing to expand its strikes on automaking giants General Motors, Ford and Stellantis if the companies fail to make progress in negotiations by 10 a.m. Friday.
The UAW expanded strikes across General Motors and Stellantis plants last week, while Ford plants stayed at the same strike level due to purported progress made during talks with the union.
Currently, 12.5% of the UAW’s 146,000 are on strike.
UAW President Shawn Fain is expected to announce the new strike expansion in a Facebook Live event on Friday.
