The annual Consumer Electronics Show hints at another exciting year ahead.
Technology is changing at a rapid pace, and the annual Consumer Electronics Show (CES), held each January at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas, hints at the most popular and ground-breaking gadgets to come over the next twelve months.
Intelligent watches, smart home appliances, intelligent speakers, wireless headphones, and drones are tipped as the most in-demand items and all look set to increase their market share in 2019.
The market for intelligent watches, for example, which can place calls, send and receive messages, and host GPS navigation, is forecast by Statista to grow by 19% this year to $4.7 billion while that for smart home technology, which enables the remote monitoring and management of household appliances, is tipped to increase by 17% to $4.6 billion in 2019.
Statista predicts the market for intelligent speakers will grow by 7% to $3.2 billion, that for wireless headphones will increase by 46% to $2 billion, and the market for recreational drones will grow by 4% to $1 billion.
This year’s CES will showcase more than 4,500 companies, including manufacturers, developers, and suppliers of consumer technology hardware, content, and technology delivery systems. There will be more than 250 conference sessions during the four-day event (held Jan. 8-11) and over 180,000 attendees from 150 countries are expected to participate.
