On Friday, the Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists revealed the details of the union’s landmark deal with Hollywood studios.
The deal reportedly includes more than $1 billion in new wages, a 7% raise in most minimum payments and 11% wage raises for background actors.
Likewise, the deal establishes multiple protections against and compensation plans for the use of artificial intelligence with actors’ likenesses.
According to SAG-AFTRA, 86% of union members voted in preliminary approval of the agreement, which will now proceed to a 21-day voting period set to end in December.
