U.S. automaking giant Ford is cutting the planned production of its F-150 Lightning all-electric pickup in half, the company announced Monday.
Ford will now only produce 1,600 pickups per week at its Dearborn, Michigan plant, versus the 3,200 per week initially announced.
“We’ll continue to match production with customer demand,” said a Ford spokesperson.
The news comes following Ford significantly increasing its all-electric vehicle production capacity across the course of 2023.
