U.S. airline Delta Air Lines is set to pay out tens of millions of dollars in a class action suit settlement surrounding the airline’s faulty refunds during the Covid-19 pandemic, the company announced Friday.
“Delta has engaged in unfair and deceptive conduct through its policy to refuse refunds, limiting and forcing customers into a rebooked flight or travel voucher instead of returning their money,” claimed the suit.
Delta will reportedly pay out $27 million in claims and 7% interest in airline credits or cash as part of the settlement.
The airline will also be required to pay $2.3 million in attorney fees.
