Technology giant Google is investing $2 billion in artificial intelligence startup Anthropic, a rival of ChaptGPT’s OpenAI.
Google will reportedly put in $500 million cash upfront, followed by a $1.5 billion investment over time.
Anthropic, which was founded in 2021, was recently valued at $4.1 billion.}
The company’s Claude 2 chatbot is touted as a main competitor to ChatGPT and has been reported to have the most reliable “self-awareness” of AI chatbots currently on the market.
