Billionaire Elon Musk’s artificial intelligence startup X.AI has filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission to raise $1 billion in equity, reports revealed Tuesday.
X.AI previously raised $135 million in a Nov. 29 sale to four investors.
Musk, who previously helped found ChatGPT-4 parent OpenAI before departing the company in 2018, announced X.AI’s launch back in June of this year.
X.AI’s first chatbot, the “The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy”-modeled Grok, was just released to the public last month.
