Technology giant Amazon is implementing a new fee on third-party sellers who choose to ship out products to consumers themselves, revealed a company notice.
Participants in Amazon’s Seller Fulfilled Prime program will be required to pay the company 2% on every product sold beginning Oct. 2.
The program, which was first implemented in 2015, previously had no fee for sellers.
Still, the Seller Fulfilled Prime remains less popular than the Fulfillment By Amazon program, where Amazon is responsible for shipping out sellers’ orders.
