When it comes to the U.S. chicken chain fast food market, Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen is aiming for Chick-Fil-A’s spot at the top of the pecking order.
According to Barclays, Popeyes managed to overtake Kentucky Fried Chicken’s slot as the second-most popular chicken chain in the United States this year with an 11.9% market share.
However, Chick-Fil-A still remains the dominant force in the sector by far, owning 45.5% of the chicken chain market share.
Still, in the ever changing world of consumer demands and fast food whims, neither Popeyes nor Chick-Fil-A should count their chickens before they hatch.
