When it comes to U.S. consumers’ drink of choice, it seems Americans are overwhelmingly trending toward spirits and beers sourced from south of the U.S.-Mexico border.
The United States has become Mexico’s largest market for beverages in recent years, with more than 30 million cases of tequila and mezcal reportedly shipped out to the United States in 2022 alone.
According to the Distilled Spirits Council of the United States, tequila and mezcal have overtaken whiskey as the second-fastest growing spirits in the country.
With Mexican tequila and mezcal hot on vodka’s heels to become America’s most in-demand spirits, U.S. consumers are set to soon trade their customary “cheers” for a hearty “salud.”
