In a world where social media fuels shopping trends, it seems like the youngest generation of consumers is being influenced toward asking Santa for something other than toys this holiday season.

Rather than ask for the latest doll or action figure, Generation Alpha – that is, kids born after the year 2000 – are reportedly asking their parents to buy them skincare products for Christmas in droves.

″We know from some of our proprietary research, as we enter into the holiday season, that skincare is one of the categories that is at the top of their list,” said Ulta Beauty CMO Monica Arnaudo.

With this in mind, make sure to hit the beauty section instead of the toy aisle when shopping for a Christmas present for the Gen Alpha in your life.
