Volkswagen on Thursday announced that it will be replacing its luxury brand Audi CEO Markus Duesmann effective Sept. 1.
Duesmann will be replaced by Gernot Döllner as the company struggles to accelerate its transition to electric vehicles.
Döllner has served as Volkswagen’s leading strategist.
Audi, although profitable, is struggling to convert to battery power and compete with the growing threat from Chinese automakers.
