Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. (TSMC) reported a significant sales increase for July on Monday, as demand for its AI-related chips continued to grow.
The world’s largest chip manufacturer reported July revenue of 467.58 billion New Taiwan dollars ($14.5 billion), a 44.7% increase year-over-year.
TSMC manufactures chips for various customers, including Nvidia and Google’s custom semiconductors, making the Taiwanese company’s sales a closely watched indicator of tech sector demand.
In its Q2 release in July, Wendell Huang, Senior VP and Chief Financial Officer of TSMC told investors: “Our business in the second quarter was supported by strong demand for our leading-edge process technologies. Moving into third quarter 2026, we expect our business to be supported by continued strong demand for our leading-edge process technologies, including the steep ramp-up of our 2-nanometer technology.”
TSMC’s shares have increased by 50% this year.
