Nvidia announced a $3 billion investment in Meta on Tuesday, following the tech giant’s plan to raise $95 billion for AI infrastructure.
Nvidia added that Meta would expand its deployment of Vera Rubin and Vera CPU, and that the two companies would deepen their partnership on Muse, the social media giant’s AI agent, which launched in September.
Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang told investors: “AI agents represent a new computing paradigm — software that understands our goals, reasons, uses tools and gets work done on our behalf. This changes how we use computers, from operating applications to working with intelligent agents. NVIDIA and Meta are expanding our partnership to optimize the computing infrastructure end to end for capable, efficient and secure AI agents, so Muse can empower billions of people to achieve more and pursue greater ambitions.”
“Muse is how we bring personal superintelligence to everyone. We’re excited to keep working with NVIDIA to deliver the best personal agents and frontier models for billions of people,” said Mark Zuckerberg, founder and CEO of Meta, in the joint statement.
Meta said on Monday it would initially raise $35 billion through underwritten public equity offerings, then raise an additional $60 billion through an at-the-market program, with Nvidia, Advanced Micro Devices, and Broadcom interested in buying up to $5 billion in shares.
The news comes after Meta’s impressive Q3 earnings last week, which showed posted revenue up 26% year-on-year.
Meta shares fell 2% while Nvidia shares jumped almost 3% in premarket trading Tuesday following the announcement.
