Billionaire Elon Musk’s biotechnology company Neuralink raised $280 million in its latest Series D fundraising round, the company announced on newly-rebranded social media platform X.
The majority of the fundraising reportedly came from billionaire Peter Thiel’s VC firm Founders Fund.
Neuralink’s ultimate goal is to create brain implants that connect the human brain with a computer.
However, the company has faced bashlack over a purportedly high death rate during the product’s animal testing process.
