Modelo Especial’s sales at beer and grocery stores have continued soaring throughout 2023, beating out Bud Light as the United States’ best selling beer for the first time on a year-to-year basis.
Modelo recently overtook Bud Light as America’s best selling beer during the months of May, June and July following a series of controversies plaguing the Anheuser-Busch brand.
According to NielsenIQ, Model has earned 8.34% share of dollars spent on beer versus Bud Light 8.28% share of dollars spent on beer as of Aug. 12.
Bud Light previously reigned as the best selling beer in the United States for nearly two decades.
