Lego revenue grows as other toymakers slump

Toymaking giant Lego’s revenue reportedly grew during the first six months of the fiscal year, all while rival toymakers’ sales continued to slump.

Lego’s revenue grew 1% during the first two fiscal quarters to the tune of $4 billion, though its net profit declined 17% year-over-year.

However, Lego’s revenue gain puts it in a unique position in the international toy market as Mattel, Funko and Hasbro’s revenue and sales all took double-digit hits across the course of the year.

The recent floundering toy sales come after the industry posted massive gains during the Covid-19 pandemic.
